Opened in 2006, Flanders Art Gallery serves North Carolina's metropolises in their needs of refined, contemporary art for both private and corporate collectors. Its principal focus is the representation of a diverse group of contemporary artists whose practices include painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and photography. Many artists of the gallery have exhibited widely in museum and gallery contexts and have been regularly included in international exhibitions such as the Art Basel, Miami and Swab, Barcelona. In introducing its local area to regionally, nationally, and internationally recognized artists, Flanders Art Gallery is assisting to spread cultural engagement and awareness of existing trends in contemporary art through the South and abroad.
Since the inception of its second curated space, Flanders 311, the gallery has also worked to promote and advance the careers of intellectually-driven emerging artists. Through its networks of represented artists and its working affiliations with guest artists, Flanders Art Gallery works to provide new and established buyers with pieces integral to strengthening and enhancing their collections.
